Perfect 10 DVD We Covet
If you were a kid during the 1984 Olympics you knew all about MaryLou, Béla Károlyi and how Béla trained a previous champion, Nadia Comaneci. This movie, Nadia, epitomizes the gloriously bad '80s made-for-TV-movie based on a true story.
As a girl I learned all the floor routines in this movie, even though I was pudgy and had never taken a gymnastics glass. But boy, did I have dreams.
I still have my old VHS tape of this classic movie, complete with commercials of Bill Cosby shilling Puddin' Pops. The tape has it's charm, but now I can share the story of the first perfect 10 in women's gymnastics with my kids, dinner party guests, senior citizen neighbors and YOU in digital style.
