We Covet Going to Bed with Robots

51oWoGiEXhL._AA260_ We all have weaknesses, right?  And one of my weaknesses, among many, many others, is bed linens.  I don't know what it is about comforters and quilts, but golly, I can't get enough of 'em.  Also, apparently, I have a weakness for robots, because this is the second time in about a week that I've written about coveting robots.  Who knew?

Anyway, something about this bedding collection, in all of its almost-beeping, robotty splendor, just sends me right over the edge.  And, by robot bed linen standards, it's cheap; I know this because, yes, I did recently Google robot bed linen prices. And what of it?  Would you rather that my weakness be, I don't know, barbiturates?  Isn't bedding, as addictions go, relatively harmless?

We Covet Pretty Places To Put Pretty Flowers

IMG_2150_full This is simple, modern vase would fit into any decor.  It is art itself!  A stainless steel sphere rests in each glass tube, attracted by strong magnets embedded in the base. The vessels move independently and smoothly in any direction, like flowers stalks in the wind.  The base is made from %100 post consumer material, so green green!

We Covet Alarm Clocks That Make Us a Little Afraid

C329BL Don't get me wrong--I like robots as much as the next gal.  But you've got to admit that there's something vaguely unsettling about the prospect of waking up next to this guy every morning.  Sure, he seems nice enough--I mean, at the very least he's always punctual, right?--but I've seen enough of those old robot movies to know where this relationship could be going.  In any case, he's available in three hot colors (blue, red or green), and comes with strong and bendable arms, if you're into that kind of thing.

We Covet Fresh-ish Flowers

Sfmoma_2056_12276429 Cut flowers were never so easy. Flat Flowers are transparent window stickers made from a static material that can be applied again and again—no adhesive! Visible from both inside and out. Great for home, your car windows, at the office, or in your hotel room when traveling!  Sometimes a rainy conference needs some traveling flowers.

One Man's Trash Is Another Man's Treasure We Covet

Crackery_crockery I love this idea. Danish designer Ornamented Life takes discarded dinnerware that is pocked with cracks and creates tiny works of art from the cracks. The designer fills in the cracks with 24k gold then adds floral enamel transfers. What was once an imperfection is now a work of art. Just as it should be.

We Covet Our Own Unique Portrait

DNAportrait I want one of these DNA portraits and I think it is an awesome gift for the person who has everything as well as the person who loves everything.  Awesome nerd present especially.  This DNA Mini Portrait measures 8” x 10”.

The process begins with the DNA being collected using an easy to use, non-invasive DNA collection kit. DNA11 will send you everything you need to get started. The sample is then sent to a highly secure, certified laboratory, where the DNA is extracted to create a unique genetic fingerprint, using a technique that takes advantage of the variation that occurs among the DNA sequence of every individual. Each art piece is completely unique and customized.

We Covet This Bedroom

To the best of my knowledge, you've never been to my bedroom--and if you have, don't even tell me, because I have enough trouble falling asleep already--so you'll just have to trust me when I say that this quilt, in all of its blue-green, expensive glory, would look absolutely amazing in there.  It would look amazing now, between the blue walls that I hate but am too lazy, apparently, to 890004_aqu_bget up and paint, and it would look even better between the sagey green walls that I dream about in my laziness.

Seriously, I'm coveting this quilt so hard that I think I might have busted my coveting gland.  And what do you do when you bust your coveting gland?  Why, you take a lie-down on a beautiful, rest-inviting quilt . . . a quilt that clearly you desperately need.

We Covet Shower Curtains That Might, If It Weren't Totally Creepy, Make Us Never Want to Leave Our Bathroom

T_DetailWho wouldn't want to engage in the three S's (that's soapin', shavin' and shampooin') behind this beautiful, lively shower curtain?  Hook it up with some colorful accents--an orange rug, maybe, or a funky red toothbrush holder--and you've got yourself one awesome bathroom.

We Covet Our Precious Time

Redflowerclock Analog is hip again (so I say today).  At least with this clock.  These clocks from Chroma lab are pieces of artwork that also tell time.  You could put one in your kid's room or your office so you don't forget how to tell time the old fashioned way. They are definitely decorative and most certainly useful.  Great gift as well.  Mother's Day is coming up...

We Covet Both Time And Temperature

80434_1_cubeclock_2 Yes, it is looks like a Rubiks cube and we are all so over retro 1980s things right? Wrong!  This clock may look like a toy but displays either time or alarm or date or temperature. You switch between these four different functions by turning around the top row of the cube. HA!  Now that is Post Modern cool.

Cube Clock, $24.00 @ chocosho.com
