We Covet a Healty Gut

Sticks We all know to eat yogurt or drink cranberry juice or take supplements from the health food store, but I found something to keep your tummy in well stocked good bacteria that you could store in your purse, lunch box, iPod case?  Jamieson, a large producer of vitamins and supplements makes Probiotic Sticks.  They claim to be "tasty plum-flavoured" that do not need refrigeration and you can take them anywhere.

Probiotics (“good” bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract) are beneficial because they help digest food and stimulate the natural defenses of the immune system to protect the body from developing infections.

An unbalanced diet,  medications or stress can reek havoc on the GI system.  Avoid more public bathrooms is my motto.

Jamieson Probiotic Sticks,  20 for $19.99 from Jamieson Vitamins (where to buy)

We Covet Having Healthy Skin

Wristband I have seen a few of you around here.  YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE.  Who haven't been putting on the whole SPF 100.  There have been enough scares and deaths around my friends and family (and probably yours) that I have become super vigilant about sunblock and am one of those hat wearing long sleeve people most of the time when I am outdoors.  Shade?  Love it.  My skin?  Love that too.  Your skin?  I also love it!!  I know it isn't stylish or groovy to wear a wristband anymore, although Colbert is bringing it back, but I found one you should have.  Put one on your kids or your love partner if you want to pass on the sun protection duty.  This photosensitive wristband changes colour when exposed to harmful UV rays.  Then you apply the heck out the sunblock all over everyone near by.

I WILL REFLECT photosensitive wrist band $4.94 @ spafinder.com/melanoma

We Covet Really Cool Eco-Stuff Even If It's Not Actually For Sale Yet

Wcbloominaction3_550x550_ I know that this violates all the rules of a product review blog, but still - even though this particular item isn't actually available for sale anywhere, it's so cool that we'd be totally remiss in not alerting the world to the fact that this super-awesome thing is out there. That, and it's something that I'm totally going to buy the minute it hits the market - which, I hope, is very very soon - so on that basis alone, it totally counts.

The 'Bloom Device' is an attachment for your bicycle that disperses bubble-borne seeds as you ride - the seeds are spread throughout whatever urban environment you're cycling through and spread joy and greenery wherever you go:

Seeds are co-mingled with a bubble mixture and upon pedaling to your destination , you release the floating seeds which land in cracks and crevices throughout the city streets. Over time, the seeds grow into flowers and plants to create a green "fringe" to our sidewalks and streets.

It's, like, eco-evangelism with a little twist of happy. I want one NOW.

Excer-sandals We Covet

Fitflops These flip-flop sandals called "FitFlops" have micro-wobbleboard(TM) technology, to give you a workout while you walk!

They have a safely tapered mid-sole, and the sole itself is comprised of segments of varying densities so that each step challenges the support and balance muscles of your feet and legs. So, work your butt, but look stylin'!

I bought a pair in silver (to look cool), and they are definitely comfy. Now that I am an old lady I cannot wear those tiny flat flip flops that the kids love to much, so these are a godsend!

FitFlops, $49.95 - find out where to buy them at thefitflop.com

Bizarre Product Of The Week: The Mansy

Mansy First of all, what self-respecting person of the male sex would don a garment that compounds the word 'man' with the word 'pansy'? Second of all, what self-respecting person with any excess baggage in the nether regions (which is to say, again, any person of the male sex) don a garment that effectively binds his sensitive parts and requires that he get a bikini wax?

I don't care how in tune you are with your higher chakras or whether yoga has enabled you to bend your legs back over your shoulders, there is no excuse for a manotard. None.

The 'Mansy,' by Lululemon. Ad premieres April 1st (which, yes, I KNOW - April Fool's. We can only hope.)
