We Covet A Healthy And Beautiful Smile - GIVEAWAY!!

A little while ago I received an Oral-B TRIUMPH with SmartGuide electric toothbrush.  I was thrilled, because the spouse and I have been looking at getting something other than the traditional bristles on a stick.  I am diabetic and am at higher risk for gum disease and husband brushes so hard that he could take the enamel off his pearly whites.  I knew there were toothbrushes that would tell you when you are brushing too hard.  The Triumph tells you when you are going at your mouth with too much vigor as well as giving you the flexibility to set the toothbrush guide for “clean”, “sensitive”, “massage” (which feels lovely), and polish.  You know how you hear things on TV about that “just from the dentist clean”?  I do, I really do!  Who knew brushing your teeth could feel kinda’ nice both during and afterwards.  The smart guide display tells you how long to brush (I was brushing way too fast because I am lazy).  It also helps minimize flossing, which woo! Who likes flossing?  I still have to in some areas, but I was surprised at how the brush really kicks the grungies out of the floss zones. 

 

I know, super glowing review, too good to be true?  The only thing I would like is if the toothbrush would make a click sound when it is put in the charger.

Alice, in case you're wondering, is a "hip houseware" company that provides those essential housecleaning components in colors other than gunmetal gray, banal blue, or boring beige. We're talking stripes, camouflage, orange, even an ironic faux wood. And they're good quality- metal and wood will last way longer than their plastic counterparts. All things considered, the price is very reasonable.

We Covet Cooler Guest Soaps.

So apparently, some of us have strong childhood memories of stinky, round pastel guest soaps in our houses. Ahem.

We Covet Anything That Eradicates the Nasty Smell of Vomit

Yeah, I know--it’s a revolting topic.  And frankly, if you’ve never been called upon to eradicate the nasty smell of vomit, and don’t expect to be called upon thusly at any point in your future, I’d recommend just moving along.  Because what we’re coveting here . . . well, it just isn’t pleasant.  And clearly not for the faint of gut.  But for you brave souls who are still reading—every one of you a parent and/or a heavy, heavy drinker—I ask you:  Is there anything that eradicates the nasty smell of vomit? 

Because seriously, I’ve tried nearly everything, from Febreze to Air Scense lime spray, to soap, to a sprig of rosemary, to getting down on my knees and praying, and nothing—and I mean nothing—has yet to lift that vile, chunky stench from my rug.  And the thing is, I really like my rug—see that photo on the left; that’s the rug; it was my grandmother’s—and would prefer not to have to toss it out with the trash.  Which is why I covet any product, real or imaginary, that’ll up and chuck that upchuck smell.

The holidays are nice and all, what with all of that family togetherness, gift-giving and pie, but you know what’s even better than the holidays, what makes, in fact, every day like a holiday? You guessed it—effective stain removal. And for my stain removal dollar, nothing works better than OxiClean.

We Covet Clean and Green Ways to Launder

The only household chore I actually like, yes like, is doing the laundry.  It is instant gratification, almost, and things smell fresh and come out of the dryer all warm.  I usually have to shoo the cats off of warm towels, but it is a nice chore to do while watching Gossip Girl.  I hear it is a cute show.  I received a sample of laundry dopps™ at the BlogHer conference this yea, when I finally unpacked all my dirty clothes and goodies, I saw these laundry pellet type thingies and used them.  They made similar looking drops for dishwashers.  Dropps are biodegradable, phosphate free, chlorine-free and NPE-free. 

You can use them on all colours, water temperatures, washers and fabrics, so says they.  I really liked them.  They are small little nuggets of liquid detergent that dissolves as soon as they hit the water.  They come in fresh scent or unscented+dye free.  I was really happy with them and will be ordering the biggest pack possible so I don't have to worry about hoofing it down to my local earth lovin' store to get a big plastic bottle of green friendly laundry soap.  They are also way less messy than liquid soap, which I use for my high efficiency front loading machine.

We Covet Funky Laundry Tins

This funky little tin is actually filled with nuggets of laundry soap, which, yes, is very good, but I would buy it just for the tin, which is a pretty little objet de vintage awesomeness.

Besides, I don't really do laundry. I might if I had this sweet little tin, though.
